Brogan Scott
7 LBS 11OZ
19 3/4 inches long
13 3/4 head circumference
My boy is growing right before our eyes!
Brogan has not been sleeping a whole lot lately and talking to the doctors about it they have told us that he is probably not getting the stimulation he needs to wear him out here in the NICU. So today we went and bought a tummy time mat and a bunch of toys for him to play with! We put him on his tummy and he liked it for a couple miutes and then started to get ticked so softy daddy flipped him on his back and the three of us laid there and read books, played with toys and kissed on each other! It was something I have looked forward to doing for a long time! I told Cade, Brogan and I will have to work on the tummy time when he is not here!
We did that after his twelve thirty feed and apparently that was enough stimulation because he has slept through his three thirty feed and his six thirty feed! The bad thing about that is we had to feed him through his feeding tube and we have to avoid that as much as possible in order for him to go home!
On a medical update note Brogan is doing much better...
This week has been much better then last, things are just moving a million times slower then Cade and I would like! The only thing we need to work on with him to get home is his food volume... Ever since his surgery he has not handled his food as well as they would have liked... He is currently eating 20 mls... which is about a fourth of what he needs to get to in order to go home. BTW according to a friend I talk in doctor speak, 1 oz is 30 mls, so our poor little Brogan is not even eating a full ounce of milk every three hours! They are increasing his feeds about 5 mls a day, so if our math is right we will be here for about another two weeks! Can you believe that? He is 12 weeks and 1 day, we have been in the NICU for 85 days! We are way too comfortable here! :) Cade has brought his own blanket, we have brought in a swing, tummy time mat, toys, and magazines.... Who knows what else room 1 on the 2nd floor of the St Lukes Hospital downtown can accumulate!
So Bascially we are doing really well we are just getting a little anxious to get our BROGIE BABA BOY home! This little one has us all wrapped around his little finger! Brogan you are so loved! Again everyone we cannot thank you enough for all your prayers, and support! We love you all!
