Last Friday was a VERY bittersweet! Brogan finally weighed enough to have his little insides put back together! He had to weigh 3000 grams and we had been waiting around for that number for about five or six weeks!
His surgery was scheduled for two o'clock Friday afternoon, Cade and I being nervous but so excited because we knew this was the first big step towards home, we went to the hospital super early Friday to spend some time with our little man!
Cade is such an amazing Daddy!
Brogans Surgery went beautifully! We could not ask for a more successful surgery!
I am so proud of Brogan and the little fighter he has been for the past 10 weeks! The doctors expected Brogan to come back from surgery on a respirator and totally dead to the world, but to our surprise he came back needing just a little bit of oxygen and trying so hard to fight the doctors and nurses off! It was so nice to see his little feisty personality that soon after surgery!
Before with his bag (2 weeks old)
After without his bag! HOORAY!
Yesterday morning they took him off of morphine and he has only had Tylenol and has done magnificent! He is such a trooper; because they did not only reconnect his intestine they removed his appendix and did his circumcision! I know I would be whining and he has done so well! They also took him off of oxygen yesterday so he is completely breathing on his own, and HE POOPED! This is the best news EVER, it shows us that everything is working and as soon as they see a big enough poop he can start eating again and then he should, fingers crossed be home shortly after that!
As of this morning Brogan weighs 6 lbs. 15.5 oz. I can’t believe how big he is getting! He is already ten weeks old and time is only going to go faster once we get our little monkey home! I have just learned not to take any moments for granted! I enjoy every smile, giving hugs and kisses with every cry and giggling at the silly faces and grunts he makes! I love this little boy with all of my heart and I cannot wait to have him in our home!
